Who Should Enroll in this Program?
This program is designed for those people who have little or no knowledge about medical billing. This is an introductory course that covers the basics of understanding health insurance and a guide to billing and reimbursement.
Program Content
This course includes common insurance terms, different types of insurance including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers. Attendees will learn the basics of processing an insurance claim, legal and regulatory issues, CMS reimbursement methodologies, essential CMS-1500 claim instructions, and basic CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding.

The learning outcome of this program is to enable the learner to gain an understanding of the healthcare industry and what it takes to be involved with medical billing.
Program Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Depict a knowledge medical billing terminology, insurance types, compliance and careers in medical billing.
- Demonstrate the fundamentals of submitting claims.
- Recognize medical billing guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement.
